8th grader Alex Gaines has been in “Ursus” since 6th grade when she wrote her first ever article about the extremely popular Westport restaurant Christie’s – which actually, coincidentally, CLOSED DOWN less than a month after the article was published. Hopefully the article wasn’t so embarrassing for Christie’s that they decided to close :) . When she’s not busy in her room writing “Ursus” articles, you can find Alex drawing on her IPad, playing ukulele, or playing board games with her family. Alex even incorporates her love of board games into her newspaper writing when she designs a fun crossword or maze into the paper. Alex also loves to write A&E articles and what’s happening locally in Westport.
