Students look at the new schedule and some have mixed feelings.

On Monday, October 29th, new schedules were in effect for all Bedford students and Coleytown 6th and 7th graders.

The old schedule had many problems,  including the issue where Coleytown teachers could not get from one school to another on time. With the new schedule, homeroom is sometimes in the middle of the day, and first thing on other days. Also, you might have all cores in the morning and then just one core in the afternoon, while there are all three encores in the afternoon.   That schedule will vary for different grades on different days.

Some people believe that can be stressful.  For sixth grade that is same days where homeroom is in the middle of the day.  Also there are days where some grades will go to class then go to lunch and back to the same class. We do not now if the students will get another schedule when the portable classrooms come, but it is unlikely.

Some Bedford 8th graders were asked about the subject.  “It’s nice we have lunch 30 minuets earlier” said Brea Church, an eighth grader.

Grace Ashford, also an eighth grader, said, “It makes our day seem longer because we have more periods after lunch. I think it’s kind of weird because it’s different times on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays than on Tuesdays and Thursdays.”
