As life returns to normal, kids start to wonder, can we return to celebrating the holidays that we love? This is the question that comes into consideration when thinking about the next holiday: Halloween! Every year Bedford Middle School hosts a sixth grade Halloween party known as the Monster Mash. Last year, the Monster Mash was canceled due to COVID-19. This year, while indoor events are still out of the question, the Bedford Parent Teacher Association (PTA) organized a new event: Monster “Movie” Mash!

Monster “Movie” Mash took place Friday, Oct. 15, at 6:30 p.m. It consisted of a party and a movie to celebrate Halloween. The movie, Ghostbusters (2016), was held at the Remarkable Theater, 50 Imperial Avenue in Westport.

Marisa Zer, Co-president of the Bedford PTA welcomed students to share their suggestions for activities and events, and were able to do so by emailing the BMS PTA. She also shared the details about Monster “Movie” Mash. “It is and was the biggest event in sixth grade, and this year it is open to other grades as well.” The PTA has big plans for this event. Ms. Zer also added that there was free pizza and candy for every car.

Prior to the event, Ms. Zer said, “I would just like to let the students know that this is the biggest event happening this fall, and they don’t want to miss it.”
