Presidential candidates Donald Trump and Joe Biden go head to head in the final debate leading up to the election on November 3, 2020.

On Thursday night, Donald Trump and Joe Biden met for their final presidential debate in Nashville.

Among some of the highlights of the debate:

Healthcare:

Joe Biden announced his plan for healthcare; “BidenCare”. This plan allows Americans to choose between private insurance or cheaper public healthcare. He also wants to lower drug prices. Trump gave no healthcare plan, but he did state that BidenCare is “socialist”. (Ursus fact check: BidenCare is not a socialist plan. And nearly every NATO country has something like it.)

COVID-19:

Former Vice President, Joe Biden says he wants to shut down the virus, not the country. He also wants to implement a nation-wide mask mandate. He also criticized President Trump for “his ineptitude”. Trump stated, “we have the best testing in the world, that’s why we have so many cases.” (Ursus fact check: America doesn’t have the best testing in the world.

National Security:

Biden said during the debate that “Any country that interferes with a US election will pay the price”. He also said that he wants to denuclearize North Korea and Iran.  Trump proclaimed that he has been tougher on Russia than any other president (Ursus fact check: Trump asked Vladmir Putin to help the FBI investigate Russian interference in US elections. He also suggested that Russia be let back into the G8, which they were kicked out of for annexing Crimea.)
