Today Nov. 9 was the Hoops for Heart, a fundraiser at Bedford for the American Heart Association.  The American Heart Association is a non-profit organization in the United States that fosters appropriate care in an effort to reduce disability and deaths caused by lots of diseases and stroke.  It also helps kids in need of necessary supplies.

Bedford has always been fundraising for the American Heart Association.  “We have been doing this fundraiser since the school was built,” said Ms. Ryan the gym teacher.  “This has been part of the school for so long.”  This event has inspired a lot of students to join the Hoops for Heart and play some basketball.

“I just came here to play and have fun” said Leo Nichols, one of the participants.  “Of course, though, I am also here to support the American Heart Association.”
