We Need to Support our President
Donald Trump will be the 45th president of the United States.
This election process has arguably been one of the most intriguing and widely followed in American history. As the world was predicting that Hillary Clinton would win, the result is both startling and unanticipated. The effect Donald Trump will have on America and the world is highly controversial.
If you are a Trump supporter like me, you were probably ecstatic at the news. Your hopes came true, and the world seems brighter than ever, filled with infinite possibilities.
Donald Trump’s main goal is to make America great again. He believes our current administration has been driving the country in the wrong direction, and we need a political outsider such as himself, a successful businessman, to get us back on track. Some of his main messages include strengthening our borders to ensure legality and safety, renegotiating foreign deals to make them more beneficial to the U.S., bringing back jobs, and instituting a flat tax rate.
If you think your life is in ruins due to a Trump presidency, then I want to assure you, an atomic bomb will not fall on you on Inauguration Day. Trump has no plans to wipe out the human race or destroy you.
Trump is a strong leader who is willing to “drain the swamp,” of Washington. He thinks the current politicians are “all talk and no action,” and he isn’t afraid to greatly change the way the government operates. Trump bravely challenges America’s involvement in the Middle East by saying we aren’t successful in fighting ISIS and shouldn’t have gone into these countries in the first place; we didn’t help anybody by doing so. Trump wants to renegotiate many deals, such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership, NAFTA, and the Iran Nuclear Agreement because he feels they don’t benefit our country enough. He is pressuring our NATO allies to pay their fair share for the defense the U.S. gives to them and is threatening to withdraw from NATO unless they do so. He will always focus on what’s best for America and isn’t afraid to ruffle some allied feathers in the process.
Even if he isn’t your favorite person at the moment, Trump is still our president-elect, and you should support him and give him an opportunity to be the kind of president you will admire.
Although my opinion might differ from yours, we must remember one thing: We are all Americans, dreaming of a better future. Donald Trump represents us all. He will do his best to defend and achieve our individual interests, as well as American interests, to improve life both in the U.S. and in the world, to ensure we all live peaceful, pleasant lives in a safe, fair, and welcoming environment. To help Trump achieve this, we need to unite behind him. Trump needs us to support him, to help and guide him along the way, and to believe in him.
Let’s give Trump a chance.
Regardless of whether you agree or not, we need to let go of our divisions by party and work to make decisions that benefit us all. Nobody knows exactly what our future has in store, but if we all stand with our president, we’ll help him move America in a positive direction.
In a sports game, the players rely on the support of the crowd, cheering them on through the best and worst times. The crowd gives the players determination and energy. Similarly, Donald Trump needs us to cheer him on and give him the determination and energy that will help Trump win the game of politics.
