Monster Mash is Scary, Good Fun
On Oct. 21, the school hosted its annual Monster Mash. It is, and has always been, a night of junk food, dancing, and scary good costumes. For sixth graders, of whom the dance mainly consists of, it is a chance to get acquainted with a new school, and for the returning seventh and eighth graders, it is a chance to have a good time in a building they already know and love.
A lot of students might not realize just how much elbow grease goes into throwing such a fun party. For the 80 volunteer parents, it takes about four and a half hours to set up to accommodate nearly 300 kids. At the event there are 35 chaperones to ensure everyone’s safety. After the night is over for students, the parent volunteers stay behind and clean up, but the most fun part by far is decorating with different decorations collected over the years.
The activities for the night include a delicious desert buffet, dancing to the music of an awesome DJ, a photobooth, and costume competitions.
Sixth and seventh graders are excited to return next year for yet another night of scary good fun.
