The Dr. is In: ‘Seussical’ Comes to BMS

Seussical has arrived and you have come to the right place to know about it.
Seussical is this year’s show that the 6th grade is putting on. The show features characters that have drawn legions of fans including Horton, Cat in the Hat, Mr. Mayor, Mrs. Mayor and many others.
The main idea of Seussical is to combine the most beloved stories by children’s author Dr. Seuss also known as Theodore Seuss Geisel.
Some of the stories are Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, Horton Hears a Who, The Lora, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, and All the Places You’ll Go.
According to Wikipedia, his books have topped many bestseller charts and over 600 million copies have been sold, and they have been translated in 20 different languages.
Let’s see what some of the fellow cast members from this year’s play had to say about Seussical. “I did this year’s play because I was in the GFS play last year and I found it very interesting and fun, so I chose to do it this year,” said Ander Kalb, who plays Cat in the Hat.
“I’m doing Seussical this year because I really enjoy catching up with my friends,” said Chloe Bolognino, who plays Mayzie.
“I think the play will turnout fantastically, especially because we have a great team,” said Grayson Jandora, who played Shrek in Saugatuck’s fifth grade play and is playing Horton in this year’s play.
“I adore singing and acting in the play that I participated in back in GFS (Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory) and it was very enjoyable so I decided to give it another go this year at a new school with my friends!” said Eden Rossman who plays Gertrude and has been doing theater for eight years. “I’ve always had a passion and love for theater, and this provided an opportunity to be able to give back to kids and to put on a great show with them,” said the director of the musical, Ryan Smith.
As you can see, these participants of Seussical are excited to put on a show that represents the work of the great Dr. Seuss.
Come see Horton, come see Gertrude, come see Mr. and Mrs. Mayor and watch the 6th grade stars put on a spectacular musical from March 24 to March 26.
