The work of the tech crew has just begun for “Peter Pan.”

There are currently 15 people in tech crew doing many jobs, which include stage manager, side managers, props, runners, spotlight operators, and light and soundboard operators. Since it’s only the beginning of play rehearsals, the tech crew hasn’t done much yet, but the heavy lifting is about to start.

“Peter Pan” includes a flying rig during the show. Kids have mixed opinions about this special edition. Gabby Lampugnale, a lost boy in Peter Pan says “I don’t think it is really safe.” While on the other hand Maddy Edwards, Mrs Darling, has ensured us that it is perfectly safe. Maddy is exited; she thinks the flying rig will add a new element that the plays have never had in the past.

Maddy Edwards also said, “The tech crew is full of wonderful people willing to put their time and effort into the play.”

The tech crew ranges from people who just want to have the experience to people thinking of working backstage for a living.

Although tech crew has many amazing members, they are still shorthanded and hope some more people will join before the play. They hope more people will join so the play’s performance goes smoothly. Samira Saad said, “It’s a blast. Ryan Smith, the adult who oversees the play prep. is a great teacher and appreciates hard work.”

All in all, it’s going to be a bit more rushed than in times past because the flying rig doesn’t arrive until December, but if everything that needs to get done, gets done, then it will be an amazing show.

“It’s so stressful, but the end result is totally worth it,” said Samira Saad.
